Calculating Cancelled Contracts

Hi, I’m a journalist with a quick question. I have data on all the federal contracts that Trump cancelled. And I have the code book on what each column means, but it’s a bit complicated.

Because there’s different types of contracts, and I have to calculate when the contract was awarded and how much has been spent so far, etc.

Basically, I’m interested in coming up with a formula for our local stations. Like I can see the principal place of performance for each one of these contracts by state, ZIP Code, and congressional district.

So I would like to report that $XYZ million in federal contracts have been cancelled in Miami, and $ABC million in Chicago, etc.

Is there a formula somewhere that could calculate that? I’m guessing I’m not the first person to ask this. Or if someone might want to answer some logistical questions please contact me.
