Hikaru Shida hasn't been on AEW TV in over 2 months and it hurts AEW's women's division.

She's been streaming video games from her home in Florida almost every day during this time, if people aren't aware of it.

I think it's a big detriment to AEW's women's division that a 3x world champion is sitting at home not being used. This creates an issue, where one of your most skilled and over women isn't constantly in the mix resulting in a ripple effect, where other women aren't used as a result too, since AEW decided to take away one of the prime options they could feud with.

  • Tay Melo has been going on record saying she's been cleared for some time, but is just waiting for the creative go ahead to be inserted into AEW TV again.
  • Riho should be back very soon according to her block.
  • Anna Jay has been MIA since her TBS title match against Mercedes Mone.
  • Willow & Kris are spinning their wheels, because they either already faced either champion, or aren't factored into the current program of a champion.
  • Thunder Rosa seems to be completely aimless right now.

The list goes on with other women who go in and out of TV without much of a plan like Serena Deeb, Yuka Sakazaki, Deonna Purrazzo, Queen Aminata, etc.

Both titles are also being held by talents that have been champion for quite a while and already fought / feuded with the majority of the AEW women's roster. It also seems like the AEW women's title is going back to the person that held it before the current title holder relatively soon, so fresh match-ups will be a rarity.

This is why non-title feuds with over people, currently not holding a title, are so important and where Hikaru Shida should factor in to give the other women something to do and make AEW's women's division feel more alive and like an ecosystem. Another approach could be to simply have more all star women's tag matches, so we see these women on TV at least every month and use that as an opportunity to launch new feuds.
