AITAH for getting upset that my family celebrated my birthday the way they did?
I, 17 F had a birthday party (just a family gathering) and my family obviously bought me a cake. The problem is, I hate cake, and everyone knows it. I never eat their birthday cakes and remind them I don't like cake every time they ask why. They bought this cake knowing I wouldn't eat it, saying they wanted to eat cake(I told my uncle and mom going into the bakery that I didn't want a cake). That in itself isn't a big deal, but it's the fact they didn't care what I wanted on my own birthday. Isn't your bd supposed to be about you and want you want? I just felt insignificant and my throat closed up when they brought the damn thing out. I still plastered a fake smile and thanked everyone, but I think some of them noticed I was upset. Is it too much to ask they consider my opinions and feelings this one day?
