Unpopular Opinion (maybe): Season 17 is going to be awesome

Don't get me wrong, I'm still mourning the loss of Mt. Midoriyama and Vegas finals as we know it. I, like many others, am really let down that they've decided to get rid of it.

That being said, I think a season focused on head-to-head races will be amazing. I don't think it's a suitable replacement for the traditional format, but by itself the racing is great. Even this sub, which tends to be pretty resistant to change (no shade, I am too!) was going crazy with some of the races we saw in city finals. While losing the traditional format stinks, cheer up. Next season will still be awesome.
