Schools With The Most “Pick Me” Energy
AKA The "We’re Not Like Other Schools” Award:
St. John’s College: Makes everyone learn Ancient Greek and has no majors. Their idea of fun? The “Alternate Euclid Proofs Group”.
Deep Springs College: Just 12-15 students living on a cattle ranch, working 20 hours a week. It’s like a really exclusive farm internship with homework.
College of the Atlantic: Only offers one major (Human Ecology) and has a giant finback whale skull as their main campus landmark.
Reed College: So anti-establishment they refuse to participate in rankings. Plus, they let students play with a nuclear reactor (supervised, hopefully).
Evergreen State College: Their mascot is a geoduck (giant clam) named Speedy. You can’t make this stuff up.
Maharishi University: Everyone meditates twice daily. It’s like yoga retreat meets college.
Minerva University: No campus - just globe-trotting students taking online classes while living in different world cities.
Colorado College: One class at a time, all day, every day, for 3.5 weeks. It’s like academic binge-watching.
University of Austin: Brand new school where students “fearlessly pursue truth.” Started in 2024 because apparently all other universities were doing it wrong.
Warren Wilson College: Students run the entire college, including the farm. It’s basically real-life SimCity.
Do you guys know any other "pick me" schools?
