[NY] Why does my company have a human trafficking policy?

Hi, I work for an international business services firm, and I am located in NY. In the handbook it has a 3-page explainer about how no employees are to partake in human trafficking. Why would this be in the handbook?

We don’t provide any logistical or delivery services.

Update: thank you all for your responses! Based on your answers my best assumption and the company I work for I believe it’s in order to be compliant with government and large business contracts as many mentioned. The company I work for has huge contracts with some of the largest companies in the world (I’m not sure if it works with the government directly, but I’m sure we do indirectly at least sometimes.)

I doubt the reason for a 3 page human trafficking policy was because of a past employee was directly involved in human trafficking. Besides maybe working with a 3rd party (e.i. Unintentionally contracting a cleaning company or someone else using forced labor).
