Why is 1-60 considered to be so good?

I see it in a lot of combos, but as far as I know you want to hide the pertrusions or usea very round rachet like 7-XX 0-XX or 9-XX. I get 1-60 on buster dran because they are designed to work together but I can't figure how it is viable with other blades.
