Is this the best and cheapest proofing solution?
was looking at foldable proofing containers, and the Brod and Taylor folding box comes up, and then there are glorified grocery bags with heating pads and then I came across this... a seedling mat with adjustable temperature. There's even a temperature probe to stick into whatever I'm monitoring.
I checked and it looks like someone else had this idea 6 years ago and he said it worked well for him. There's an even cheaper $11 version that simply maxes out at 86*F which is perfectly safe for proofing. I have some insulated grocery bags too so I could just toss it in one of those if I'm proofing bread.
I know... turn the oven light on and toss the bowl in there. It doesn't work that great for me and this thing only hits 20 watts.
