Experience's with hire cars post accident if you've got a shitbox 4x4?

Saw some comments around how you're only able to get a comparable vehicle provided. I'm curious how that works with something like my disco, on one hand it's an $7k shit box on the other it's a 7 seater 4x4 with a bullbar/winch/AT's.

My understanding of the kinda 4x4 specced vehicles you can rent is they tend to not cheap and generally a LandCruiser (if it's a 7 seater), which given the cost is that likely?
