Help my cat bent his whiskers in a candle!

He stuck his head in a burning candle and now they are all bent! Is it ok for me to cut off the bent ends so I don't have to wait for them to fall out, or will that be too bad for kitty? Here's a picture

Update: All his whiskers have straightened out except one. He hasn't seemed to have any trouble zipping about like always.
