ICE

I'm starting to see posts online about ICE raids in NJ, Chicago, even NC... It's so hard to know what is real news these days, but is there any way to find out and prevent ICE action in Cola?

The immigration system is broken, but deporting en masse is not the solution. As a follower of Jesus, the church is supposed to look out for refugees, immigrants, widows, orphans, and the marginalized. There is no question that the American church has sucked at that, but there is a solid tradition of civil disobedience among believers, and resisting deportation and associated discrimination against black and brown people is an occasion for just such resistance.

The hope of this post, then, is to connect with people that care about protecting immigrant and refugees, regardless of faith or political background.
