Amex Points Purchase

So I understand that a maximum of 10k MR can be purchased for INR 4k. However, there’s not much clarity on the T&C of this offer. However he’s what I have understood from multiple interactions with support:

  1. Maximum of 10K MR can be purchased per Amex Account per Calendar Year;
  2. You can buy Points equal to the Points already accumulated in your account or 10,000 Points (whichever is lower)
  3. You can purchase only in multiples of 1000 for INR 400 per 1000;
  4. The cost will be charged to your current statement;
  5. The points reflect generally in about 2-3 days.

I have managed to buy 10k MR on my Plat Travel in December and once again in January now. So effectively INR 8k for 20k MR.

I’ve attempted to buy 10k MR on my MRCC, in December and was allowed to but did not have sufficient MR (Point 2 above) to buy. I again attempted to buy 10k MR on my MRCC, now in January and was outright rejected stating, it’s once per account per year.

So I think while it’s yet to be automated and you can try your luck, safe case is once a year per account irrespective of the number of cards. But try your luck, you never know!
