Design help after storm damage

Need help designing my dining room/den area. 3 months ago a tree fell on my house requiring a full rebuild of this room. We opted to remove the fireplace and replace with a gas insert which will be put in soon. I’m unsure what to do from here. Shelving above insert? Built ins to the side again? Paint colors? Thank you for all advice!
