Poor low light performance
Hey friends, I’ve been shooting on the A7IV for a while and occasionally I would rent the A7SIII when I needed better low-light performance. In my experience with the A7SIII, the second native ISO of 12,800 is like magic and it’s been a game changer for me. I recently upgraded the FX3, expecting the same low light performance, and so far I’ve been extremely disappointed. The footage that I’m getting in lower light conditions with the ISO set to 12,800 is extremely noisy. Pretty much the same as the A7IV.
People rave about the FX3 and I’ve seen some incredible examples of what it’s capable of in low light, so I’m sure it’s user error, but despite watching countless YouTube videos, I can’t figure it out. Can you help me? I typically shoot in Slog3.Cine, XAVC S 4K 24fps, 1/48ss and try to make sure that my exposure is around +1.7 - +2.0.
Your help would be greatly appreciated!
