Give it to Me Straight - GEICO Staff Attorney
I am in the process of interviewing for a GEICO staff attorney position. I am coming from a private sector law firm and am fully aware this would be a drop in pay, but am willing to take that trade off if it means a position with better work life balance. I’m curious to know what this position is really like. How do folks handle being parents and working in this role? Are you expected to work/be available evenings, weekends or holidays? Are you working within “standard” business hours?
Also would like to know - What is the performance metric - How often/easy is it to get a raise in pay or a bonus - Do you generally feel overworked - Do you feel adequately supported in your position - Do you feel like the work environment is positive - How much training/ what quality of training do new staff attorneys receive ?
I’ve seen quite a few posts related to massive numbers of layoffs in 2023. Anyone know why or if those are finished?
Just give it to me straight !
