7-8mm rubber ball review
Simple and short review.
Pros
- Very accurate compared to gel balls.
- Shoot just as far.
Cons
Much more painful and will damage certain targets. I destroyed my plastic toy target which otherwise would have no problem surviving gel ball hits.
Totally unsuitable for automatic fire especially top hopper fed due to inability of gel balls to slide down, because of higher friction between rubbers compared to slippery gel balls. These are only good for semi-auto or single shot rifles and shotguns.
The only place where it's good for full auto is when the balls are predictable in their feeding to the mag, like maybe a belt clip or shell based bullet/ejectors.
Some models of gel gun require you to shake the hopper a bit to rattle the contact points of rubber balls so the friction is removed and one of them wins the race out of the hopper. You will have to keep doing this while going full auto to actually shoot anything after the 1st ball.
Works perfect with M97 shotgun, use it like you use with gel balls.
