Algae Growth

I've just carried out my weekly water change and have noticed the algae in my aquarium is getting progressively worse 😬. Any suggestions for combating this? I want to avoid the use of live plants since I have goldfish and the plants will end up as a snack and I also want to avoid the addition of an 'algae eaters' as I'm a firm believer that goldfish should be kept in species only tank. Looking online, there is Tetra AlguMin which has decent rereviews, has anyone used this? My initial thoughts are to reduce the light/the duration the lights are kept on (currently 10 hours per day) and purchase the AlguMin but any advice would be appreciated 🐟.
