Titanic HDIA did anyone else hate how they talked about rose?

rose is a woman being sold away to a rich abusive sociopath by her own mother so that her mother can hold on to her "memories" and capital, rose is absolutely correct in feeling like a slave and it felt like both riley and graydon didnt understand how her character worked or what her motivation was at all like they misunderstand it so much they both seem confused when talking about her suicide attempt, its so frustrating.
