Multi-Question post. 2023 High Altitude.
Multi question post. Stock 2023 High Altitude. Recently took a trip to Taos, NM and did a few trails there. One of which was packed snow, it was a lot of fun for sure. But it also got me thinking, especially with the stock HA tires as when I stopped on a small pull off I had been in 2H the whole time. When I started trying to go again it was having none of that and just spinning up. Put in to 4H and away we went and everything seemed to go smooth after that. But again, got me thinking and here's where the questions come in.
- Thinking of moving up to 35's. I know a lot will say go with 37's but think that might be a bit to tall as I don't plan to do any super duper rock crawling or anything. Thoughts on going with 17" wheels or keeping the stock 20" wheels? Also if I go with new tires/wheels it'll be done at a shop because I'm a nerd not a DIY'er. With the old tires/wheels do I keep those and just re-sell them? Or just tires if I stick with the 20" wheels?
- For 35's, 2.5 or 3 inch lift? I've seen talk about puck lifts and other such things too, I need to research those more probably.
- Re-gear. Have the stock 3.73 gears. Was thinking of bumping up to 4.88? Hopefully plan on towing things in the future. Also does this affect warranty? Also like with the tires what happens with the old gearing?
- Is Tazer the only way to fix speedo and set tire size?
- Lastly, I believe the HA has the steel bumper, can I add a winch to it or have to go with full new bumper?
Plus just started thinking about all this, rough estimates on prices? Also what if any of the above would void warranty? Thanks in advance, picture just because. :)
p.s. any pics of HA's on 35's would be awesome too. Thanks again.
