Over the white people who didn’t realize “social justice” was a thing until George Floyd

I feel like something along this line comes up every season but it’s still nuts to be that in the age of information, we still hear this sentiment so much. I wanted to like Sara at first but the way she brought up how BLM / LGBTQ+ issues are important to her and then chose a dude who literally admitted he didn’t vote? I can’t. I shouldn’t be surprised anymore that people can’t seem to find empathy unless they feel somehow connected (re: Minneapolis) but the act when it’s convenient. I understand editing happens but I just wish this show would show more of the deeper convos. I don’t think it would take away from the dating aspect, but rather provide an example for how to have productive conversations. The surface-levelness of a show that’s supposed to be about depth is just so frustrating for me.

***for this commenting about it being reality tv and should be entertaining - I totally get that but it’s also about MARRIAGE and these things matter deeply in that level of partnership; and matters, period.
