REMINDER: Biosafety Training in RITM does not make you a Certified Biosafety Officer (CBO) !!
I've seen some RMTs na dinadagdag yung CBO sa title nila after matapos yung Biosafety Training sa RITM. This is just a heads up na ibang training yung for CBO. The training to become a Certified Biosafety Officer is conducted by the National Training Center for Biosafety and Biosecurity (NTCBB) called Philippine Advanced Biorisk Officers’ Training (PhABOT).
According to NTCBB: Upon completion of that training, the UPM-NIH grants them the title Certified Biosafety Officer with "CBO" as designatory letters. This differentiates them from non-PhABOT graduates of biosafety and biorisk management courses.
Yes, I know that we have fellow RMTs na CBO talaga given that they completed the training by NTCBB, pero ayun, may iba kasi akala nila once they completed the biosafety training by RITM, they can be called a certified biosafety officer na. Which is incorrect.
I know it feels rewarding to put designatory letters after our name but let’s ensure they accurately reflect the training and qualifications we've completed.
