Samaritan's Purse is supposed to be better than FEMA? 😒

Not the volunteers I spoke with. One of the volunteers said I needed to help her help me after I told her my car was not worth spending $4,000+ to repair (lots of damage) because of all the rust on the seats and the electrical system was killed by the flood. They were condescending and asked me more than once who I'm living with... even though I had already put on the form that I'm single (female) and also said this to the initial representative.

Asked me more than once when I was going to get a job - after telling them I was on SSI due to a vehicle accident. I'm legally physically disabled and there is literally not any job I can currently do. Then they said they were so glad I'm in such a great area 🤨 I reminded them there's no public transportation and they said oh yeah, well there's that. Then one of the volunteers asked me again when I would start looking for a job 🙄

It takes a minimum of 2 months to see even the most basic specialty care medical practice. I'm on the wait list for a minimum 3-6 months wait to get back into physical therapy.

Back in October, the FEMA Representatives I spoke with on the phone were friendly and professional. The FEMA representative I met so she could see where I was living and the damage was very friendly. Answered my questions and approved my application very quickly. I actually donated money to Samaritan's Purse last month - Not much but every dollar is supposed to count. I will NEVER donate another dime to them.
