Anyone know how to get these Indonesian brass unions to STOP leaking? Any tips?

I’m doing a heating coil for a roof top unit, and we’ve been putting in these 1 1/2” brass unions. They leak like a motherfucker. I’ve doped the union itself, and cranked it down. Yet it still leaks
