How often do customers ask how the dish look like?

I am thinking about being a server. English is my second language yet I am handsome and presentable person. What are your challenges in terms of being a server? Do you have to literally memorize ingredients of every dish? Also do customer's ask how the dish looks like? Because of slight language barrier it makes my job a bit more challanging then my colliges.
