Blue versus brown eyes???
I haven’t seen anyone make this specific theory yet, but I probably missed something since I haven’t read everything on this sub.
Obviously color is extremely important in this series. But “eyes” also seems to come up a bit. One of the questions they have to answer when they wake up is “what color was your mother’s eyes”? In Milchicks painting, he obviously has blue eyes. Mark trying to show “kind eyes” etc.
Well my theory is just as simple as those with brown eyes are pretty much who we know them to be. But those with blue eyes are people that have some sort of secret/hidden motivations.
Those with blue eyes: Helly, Kier, Natalie, Ricken, Burt, some other sketchy people
Everyone that I can think of that has distinct blue eyes (except for Burt and Ricken) clearly have some sort of secret, or at least motivations that are not clear to the viewer (or at least weren’t clear when we met them). Burt and Ricken do seem to have something strange to them. Ricken is just such a weird dude. And the shot of Burt watching Irv leave the phone booth striked me as very noteworthy
Milchicks eyes are brown, so if this theory holds, then he really is only an office supervisor and there’s not much else to him. Perhaps when he got the painting with the blue eyes it signaled that Lumen liked his work and were going to “let him in on their plans” thus giving him alternative motivations/secrets not clear the the viewer yet. Perhaps he knew that and might explain why he reacted in almost a nervous manner.
Thought? Perhaps it’s dumb but it makes sense to me. Although I’m not exactly a super fan like some of you here so I wouldn’t be surprised if there are clear counter examples that I just haven’t thought of.
