Movie Gerald and Issues with him.

And no it's not the Comedy. Seriously guys it's Jim Carrey he was destined to be somewhat comedic to begin with.

The first half of the Movie has context of Gerald Manipulating Ivo and the resulting fight in the later half of the Movie... well it's Jim Carry fighting an the Evil version of himself. It not being slapstick is a stupid idea.

No the biggest thing I think is kinda lost in the weeds is his motivation and how in some ways its far weaker than in the games.

The biggest takeaway from Gerald is his desperation. How far he's willing to go to exert his power to do something. Mainly Saving Maria from NIDS.

Yes I think without Maria having NIDS and project Shadow being a key in saving her Gerald's tragic downspiral due to her death feels... drastic.

Like punishing G.U.N. I get it. But destroying the world over one child's death...

It comes across like everything else never really matter to him in the first place. Shadow's place as someone he cares about feels less established and it comes across like he's always been using him for his power from begining to end for unknown and maybe somewhat sinister purposes.

I kinda wished we had more time with Gerald during his past and got into the nitty gritty of what project show was. A time where maybe he was less goofy or maniacally insane.

Maybe a Shadow Solo Movie wouldn't be such a bad idea to help flesh out some things. Maybe get Shadow's own mental perspective of Gerald or Maria that we couldn't get to in the time we had in this Movie.
