Castiel is an "angel" in name only

This is one of the dumbest written characters. I loved him when he first came on the show. In later seasons, the character completed deteriorated. He has no powers, and if he does, he never ever uses them even when he or the boys are getting their asses kicked. He will heal wounds every now and then, or put someone to sleep. Why isn't there ever an epic battle with castiel using his powers? He's turned into such a low budget filler character. This is my own opinion and I'm aware some don't agree.
