What's the best way to wear lingerie for your partner?

I've never worn special lingerie in front of my partner. I really want to though.

My logic goes like this: Lingere leads to sex. Sex means taking the clothes off. So what's the point of wearing it? Do you wear it early in the day as a tease? Do I go in the bathroom to change in the middle of the day? I don't understand the logistics of it all lol.

Any tips on how to spice things up with lingerie? Any particular kind of lingerie you prefer?
