Anyone have any "broke bitch beauty" tips?

I'm doing well enough in my life to afford grass fed steak and proper branded mint sauce, but not well enough to not wince when I get my nails done in ombre powder. I also have three kids, so I find it hard to justify that one of them can't get their musical qualifications because mummy wanted a smooth forehead and more glitzy glam glam. But mummy does want a smooth forehead and lots of glitzy glam glam. Does anyone have any tips on how to have a nice beauty routine on a budget?
