(UK) Pet Insurance Question

Hey,

I've just wondered about how pet insurance should work in the UK as I've never had it before, I've taken it out for our two Bengals (Lyra and Tando)

One thing that doesn't seem right is that the insurance company don't pay the vet, they expect me to pay the vet and then they will reimburse me after they have received all the documents from the vet post procedure etc.

This seems different to how car insurance works and not what I was expecting.

The company is petsure by the way. Is this the norm ?
