Why do you think Kevin Durant is so unhappy?
One of my favorite players to watch since he was drafted by the Sonics as an impossibly skinny and supernaturally gifted sharpshooter. An offensive supernova who found early success with OKC and earned his rings with the Warriors as the best player on the best team ever assembled. Durant proved he could match LeBron on the biggest stage and I’d assume that would bring validation if he was seeking it. He chose to leave that beautiful pairing with Steph to form a talented but volatile squad in Brooklyn that left many of us confused and left KD looking for a new home yet again. Watching him recently in an underperforming Suns lineup is just depressing, his body language is noticeably grim and he seems unapproachable to his staff and teammates. I understand he’s plugged in to internet sentiment and is recognized for being a genuine dude that loves basketball. What are your thoughts and will we see a happy, engaged KD again?
Edit: thank you to everyone for your perspectives. KD’s career is certainly interesting in the context of his achievement and puzzling for myriad reasons. Appreciate all of our wild speculation. Cheers
