Lightning Stance Possible Bug?

Maybe I'm missing something, but is it supposed to drain your own life on hit? You can actually kill yourself in seconds by using it on training dummies in town, the life drain is that strong. I didn't see anything about this in the description on the forum announcement regarding his release.
