OWC vs Lacie - RAID Storage Options
Happy Holidays, everyone!
I'm looking at purchasing a multi-bay RAID in the next month or so, and would love some input on making the choice between 2 units I've narrowed down. Right now, I'm between the Lacie 6Big and the OWC Thunderbay 8. Both devices offer far more speed and far more storage than the single consumer Seagate drives I'm used to using. When I price them out, I can get more storage space out of the OWC if I buy the enclosure on its own, and then 8 16TB IronWolf Pros than if I go with the Lacie. But is there a pro to the Lacie model that I'm overlooking vs the OWC? Does anyone use either of these for their own post workflow? The setup it would be connected to would be an M1 Ultra Mac Studio with 128GB of RAM.
Thanks, everyone!
