Swoon worthy MMCs that make you feel everything?

I keep DNF books which is my own fault I know but I want to FEEL. I enjoyed Max from “daughter of no worlds” but couldn’t push past book 2, and anything written by Rebecca Yarros. I like a protective/possessive streak but still gentle and loving. I DNF “when the moon hatched” and “the games gods play” most recently. I keep picking up and setting down the first “villains and virtues” book, he doesn’t seem like the swoon worthy type but I could be wrong and just need to push through?
