I absolutely hate the "Go play other games" stigma
It was this post https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/517ql0/a_player_asks_on_how_to_maintain_motivation_and/ 7 years ago that mentions to someone who was actually burnt out in the game to go play something else. And it was only mentioned recently because he just released ffxvi which hinted at for the community to play it and rack in profit? Does anyone try to see through the PR side of Yoship?
Now, as the ffxiv community commonly does and blows things out of proportion, they use this as like a godsent blessing by Yoship allowing us to play other games when we feel burnt out.
Now what if I say the majority of the people in the game don't know how to distinguish burn out and boredom? I believe I've seen enough posts that people seem more bored than they are burnt out and are mixing the two. The downtime of this expansion between patches has been horrid, and our next big content release is in 6 months, Let's include the preceding time from this post, so they will eventually get bored and mentioning it to others will just call it burnout and tell you to play another game???
HUH? Everyone experiences burnout differently, I can get behind that, but logging in, having very little to do, and expecting not to have complaints? And call it BURNOUT?
My burnout level was after blinding the first tier of savage into doing multiple parse runs into blinding DSR. That was actual burnout, and people telling me Im burnt out is hilarious but im just bored but I want to play the game and have fun man... Ive tried other mmos, nothing comes close.
Why can't we ask for a little something at the end of the expansion? Why can't we have something to strive for or to grind for that is fun?
Stop quoting this man out of context...
Edit: Before everyone jumps on the train (Which a lot has already done..) I've been not playing the game for 2-3 months now but for a few hours every week and I've been playing other games.
