Captains are useless in player interactions

I remember if you had a good a captain in the older fm he can pretty much resolve every issue you had with other players. In 1,500 hours of playing FM24 I have never had a captain be able to resolve any players issue. What is the point of having a feature that’s straight up doesn’t work? I even did an experiment and maxed out my captain stats to all 20, made him a club icon, model citizen, and made sure he was a team leader still failed every interaction.
