What am I doing wrong?

I’m new to For Honor. Recently, I have been trying to learn how to deflect light attacks. I was practicing with Orochi in Hero Tactics. At the end of the video, I managed to deflect the light attack.

By the way, I am playing on a console. I do not use a keyboard.
