Review of The Body Tale's Houjicha Latte
I recently chanced upon an Indonesian perfume brand called The Body Tale during Public Garden and bought the scent Houjicha Latte.
First of all, I absolutely love their packaging! There are cute cats on all their labels.
The scent itself is very realistic, from the bottle it smells quite milky and then I immediately get the roasted tea notes. According to the shop, these are the notes:
Top notes: Houjicha Tea
Middle notes: Milk
Base notes: Tonka bean, Musk, Brown Sugar
I'm not a big fan of musky scents so the musk in this perfume is actually quite subtle to me.
On my skin, the scent doesn't change much and it smells exactly like a cup of milky, houjicha latte. My only gripe is that despite it being stated as extrait de parfum, the projection and sillage are all quite weak. The longevity is decent as ~9 hours later I can still smell a slight whiff on my skin (maybe 20% of what the scent is supposed to be).
The price is very affordable (I think I paid $25 SGD for 30ml) so can't complain too much about the projection and silllage.
Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase as I love photorealistic tea scents! I also sniffed their other scents like Teamomile, Potrait of Kyoto and Spice Nomad, and were intrigued by all of them, may consider buying them if I chance upon them again.
