I feel unsafe (as a woman)

I want to preface this by saying that I don’t think that all Germany is like this and that maybe we just have had bad luck. But nevertheless:

I live in the BW region. I swear to God I've lived for 5 years in Madrid (5 Million inhabitants) and I've never felt so unsafe as when coming to Germany.

There's lots of drugged people near stations, which one obviously has to encounter when you don’t have a car. Men stare at you if you wear even the tiniest revealing top. Sometimes when we speak Spanish some madman will come and scream at us. Drunk dudes have started talking to us out of nowhere.

Not in the same line, but when two friends of mine were house-hunting, the landlords and people from the agencies would just talk to my male friend even if the one speaking was my female friend.

The last straw was the other day. A friend and I were going out of a train and I'm sure that if there hadn't been police we would have been sexually assaulted by two dudes who sat all the train ride next to us and didn't stop observing us. They then started following us with an object tied to a big enough rope. Earlier that same day a drugged guy spent 15 minutes walking around me and my friends staring constantly.

This and the fact that drinking is allowed in public is incredibly concerning. All of my female friends think the same. Maybe Spain is just better off in this aspect but I am terrified to come home at night by myself, particularly after that incident on the train.

Has this always happened? I would like to know the perspective of other women and how they feel and how they deal with certain situations.

Edit: please don’t turn this into a racist post. I just want advise, perspective, and a little vent after a frightening experience LOL
