Increased frequency of attacks.
I have experienced gout attacks for the past 30 years or so (60 yo male). In the past, they have been relatively infrequent, once every couple of years. In the past 8 months, I have had 4 attacks including 2 in my thumbs. As a musician, I was unable to pick up an instrument much less play for a few days during the peak of the attacks. Has anyone suffered a significant increase in the frequency of attacks? If so, were you able to determine a cause for the triggers? I am overweight but not obese, I never drink alcohol or sodas, almost never eat red meat or fish. I am cautious about consuming any of the trigger foods. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
