We Survived the Ice Age (Probably? Maybe?)
Well, Halifax, we did it. After weeks of skating to work, perfecting the penguin walk, and questioning our life choices every time we stepped outside, it looks like we might, possibly, hopefully be crawling out of the Ice Age.
With temperatures finally creeping above freezing, I think it’s safe to say we’ve entered the “False Spring” phase of Nova Scotia’s never-ending seasonal guessing game. Will we be wearing shorts by Friday? Maybe. Will we get a surprise blizzard next week? Also maybe. The Weather Network doesn’t know, your grandmother doesn’t know, neither do the gods of winter.
So let’s all take a moment to enjoy this brief respite from the ice-rink sidewalks and salt-stained everything. May your driveways be slush-free, your footing be stable, and your car doors finally unfreeze.
Cheers to surviving another Maritime winter...until the next plot twist.
