Cuckoo Was Very Underwhelming

Whenever I heard about Cuckoo, the hype was that this was supposed to be another one of those 10/10 horror movies that get a lot of hype, such as Longlegs, The Substance, Heretic, etc. But, when I watched it, I was more confused and annoyed about the premise of the movie.

I think the only thing that I liked about Cuckoo was that Hunter Schafer was fairly decent in her role.

And what disappointed me the most about Cuckoo? The fact that it wasn't scary in the slightest, except for the blonde lady getting stabbed in the throat. That was actually pretty gnarly.

Also, what was up with the movie repeating three or four times whenever the characters would hear the screeching?

If anybody can help maybe shed some light on the movie for me, that would be great. I see that people do like it, so, maybe I just didn't get it...?
