The nVidia effect.

I get accused a lot of being a Microsoft shill. If I'm shilling anything these days, it's top end nVidia GPUs.

I did the Microcenter experience buying a 5090 and it opened my eyes. I saw firsthand what these parts mean. I was #9 in line and people were offering $1K US to trade spots. Only one person in the first ten spots took that deal. He got a free 5080 in essence.

No one will stand in a line hoping for an AMD card.
