Were Soldiers of Narayani Sena following the path of Dharma or Adharma ?

well it is often discussed how Bhisma upheld all the vows he took for the kingdom and participated in the War , but since he knew kaurav were on the Adharma side and he still fought alongside them which was pointed out Shri Krishna in " Morality Binds Wisdom Frees " argument ....this lead me to the above question cuz we know even though duryodhan choose Narayani Sena over Madhav...Shri krishna was the one give the word and thus ordering soldiers of Narayani Sena to fight alongside kauravas .....So can we say they were on the path of Dharma cuz in a way Soldiers of Narayani Sena were following orders/path shown by Bhagwan himself......or they were on the path of Adharma for not opposing words of Madhav and refusing to fight alongside Kauravas ?
