Trying to Understand Ranked…

It’s possible it’s just me, but it seems games either go one of two ways, you either shit on the other team, or the other team shits on you. Ranked play seems the opposite of competitive. Maybe 10% of my matches are back and forth competitive, but the other 90% is getting dominated or dominating. Can you help me understand?

For reference, I am Bronze 1 on console. Typically, I will fill in the gap of the team whether it’s tank or healer.
