Anyone else think The Thing is awful?

I mean bad: worst tank in the game bad.

He genuinely feels like nothing but a massive hitbox to soak in damage, but he can't even do that well. He has no shielding or ways to mitigate damage except his engagement tool, which is also his disengagement tool - and relies on an escape using another team member. Meanwhile, Hulk has a shield, an escape on his own, and some of the best team ups in the game even after nerfs.

And his hitbox, dear god - I thought Peni's was easy to hit, but I have never gotten more kills on any other tank using Rocket than The Thing. He is genuinely shredded down by a support if they are just out of his reach. I think it's because he's not as tall as Peni, but extremely wide. His arms are almost the size of some of the ladies of the cast.

I firmly believed for the longest time that Captain America is the only tank in this game that under any circumstances you should not solo tank with - I take that back. The Thing is even worse. If he does not have any tank with him he has no way to cover a mistake or check up on his team, even more than the other tanks.

There's some good sides to him for sure. Once he gets in that range, his damage is pretty good with forgiving hitboxes on all his attacks, and the immunity to see has made me see Wolverine a lot less. But He doesn't have a large healthpool, has some lacking escapes, cannot solo tank in a game where (unfortunately) most of the time you probably will be on your own in that regard, has only one way to mitigate damage outside of another team member being by.

I can see him working in a dive comp for his utlity, but I find myself struggling to pick him over Hulk in most scenarios.

He's fun to play as, but I don't think he is up to snuff with his peers.
