HTC not turning on, broken flex cable
Hello, someone gave me an old phone to see if i can fix it. It's a HTC (googling the model name on the back says it's a HTC U11 but it doesn't quite look like the ones I'm seeing online). It charges when I connect it to a charger. I'm assuming the battery was 0% so I left it charging for a couple of hours. During this the front LED was steady orange, and after what I assumed was the battery charging up completely it is now steady green. But when I hold the power button (or any other combination such as Volume Up + Power Button, Volume Down + Power Button or Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button) nothing happens and the screen doesn't turn on at all and there's also no vibration or sound to indicate the phone turning on. It also didn't turn on during charging. I opened up the phone and saw that this flex cable was broken. It is on the side of the volume and power button so I thought it could be related.
I'm a beginner at this so I'm asking for help. Could this be the cause of the phone not working? If yes, is there any way to fix the cable? Could the screen be broken?
I appreciate any help you could give me.
