How long does it take to complete a nuzlocke? How do you avoid losing steam?

When I'm playing consistently, it usually takes me about a week to complete a vanilla nuzlocke, spending an hour or two a day. How much time does a run take for you?

Also, I've been running into a problem where if I go a few days without touching a run, I lose steam and start over completely, which means I rarely finish out my runs. How do you all get going after not playing for a while?
