PSA: OnePlus 8T latest update is no bueno!

Heya!

This is a little PSA to anyone who owns a OnePlus 8T and is considering the latest update (I'm not sure if the 8 and 8 Pro, or any other OnePlus could be affected too)

I own a OnePlus 8T and just tried to update my device to the latest software version through an OTA update. This is Oxygen OS version 11.0.9.9.KB05BA for me, but your device may offer you a slightly different version.

Anyways, when it went to restart, my phone was stuck on the OnePlus logo for a bit, and then brought me into recovery mode. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the device to resume the update or even just boot up regularly. This update hasn't been out for long yet. For anyone that has not updated yet but is considering, I'd recommend not to try it, because I think there's something well wrong with this update. For anyone that has and is now stuck in recovery mode: here are the steps I followed to get my device to boot.

- To even get into recovery your device will probably ask you for a passcode. If you have a 4-digit pin set, **this is your 4-digit pin**. Hit OK after filling it in.

- Select English

- Hit ''wipe data and cache'', don't worry, this doesn't actually delete your data.

- Then hit ''wipe cache'' (and NOT wipe data music and pics).

- It'll give you a menu with the option to reboot or to go back, hit back, and get back to the first screen you started on after you selected the language.

- Now go to ''advanced'' and hit ''reboot into recovery''.

- Your phone will reboot again and it will look like it's doing the same thing as it was before.

- Now you're in Recovery again, but there's one less option than the previous recovery screen.

- Hit ''wipe data and cache'' again.

- Now clear your cache (but not your data!) **again** and when it asks you to reboot, do it. Do not go back but just hit the reboot option.

- Now your phone will boot into regular OS (the update was actually applied after all of this).

This is the only procedure that got me back into my phone after trying for quite a while. It may not be the same for everyone, but I thought I'd share with anyone who may need it.

Good luck and be very careful updating!
