My husband is different after taking shrooms, not in a bad way but should I be concerned?
Hello everyone, I'm not the most experienced person when it comes to mushrooms, but I've tried them a few times, never exceeding 3.5g, and I've never abused them.
My husband also had some prior experience with mushrooms, but he found his past trips to be rather underwhelming, with more of an emphasis on euphoria rather than a full-blown psychedelic experience.
Now, my husband was never particularly outdoorsy. He preferred staying at home, he loves video games and didn't have much interest in activities like biking or hiking, and quite frankly, he disliked physical activity in general.
A few months ago, a friend of ours provided us with 4g of Amazonian mushrooms, and we decided to try them together at home. We opted for the lemon tek method and patiently waited for the effects to kick in.
Initially, we shared lots of laughter while watching "King of the Hill". My husband started to feel like he was genuinely tripping this time, complete with visuals and other psychedelic sensations.
However, a little later, he said he was feeling trapped and felt the walls were trying to swallow him whole, and he wanted to leave the house and go for a walk. I agreed, and we headed to a nearby park, where we spent the remainder of our trip by the lake. To my surprise, he was behaving quite differently. Despite his previous aversion to nature-related activities, he was smiling, watching the ducks, and waxing philosophical about the beauty of nature. It turned into a remarkably positive and profound trip.
The next morning, he woke up early, prepared breakfast for us, and suggested returning to the park. So we did, taking another leisurely walk and appreciating the fresh air. On the following day, he wanted to explore a different lake, and that's when I started wondering, "What happened to my husband?" In the subsequent week, he began researching and purchasing bicycles (something he had previously claimed to despise).
Now, he's taking better care of himself, regularly exercising, and craving outdoor activities. He even mentioned that weed has never felt so good. Although his core personality remains unchanged, it's remarkable how his behaviors and attitudes have shifted following that trip.
Is it common for people who take mushrooms to experience such drastic changes in habits after a trip? While I've had my fair share of enjoyable trips in the past, they never led to such profound shifts in my own life.
EDIT: I forgot about Reddit for a few days, I wasn't expecting this post to get this much of attention
I just want to clarify something people keep commenting:
- "Why would you be concerned if your husband changed for the better?!" - well, it's hard to say because you don't know my husband, but he was an inside man, he despised outdoor activities, refused to even go for a picnic. He made memes making fun of cyclists, and now he can't go 2 days without taking his bike out. It was really bizarre to see how he changed SO MUCH after a single trip.
But I was never concerned, my question as really should I be? Because it was a big change that came out of nowhere, I was just wondering if it could be a bad sign for a bigger problem - but I guess I'm mistaken! It's been 5 months now and he hasn't relapsed or gone into depression mode
